During the 70s, 80s, and 90s I worked as a Geologist in the New Guinea Islands region. After discovering a Gold Deposit I remained involved in the Mines Development. As a result we bought timber and modern design exotic furniture and a kitchen for myself from E. & D. F. part of a family group of companies primarily involved in timber, furniture, earthmoving and plantation re-afforestation. The plantation forestry was for rainforest trees while agricultural trees were also cultivated. I often told one of the Directors that he had a special gift with furniture design and finishing and an amazing knowledge of different species. The family forestry company continues still today with further development of forestry plantations.
